So I wanted to see what max did in qualifying because that would dictate what his steering angle should be on optimal situations like the racing line, if his steering angle was extremely aggressive even on the racing line that would mean he would never make it on the inside with 45° or less of steering input. I also tried to look at distance to the apex when the steering angle was applied.

This is the q3 qualifying footage also next to the 2019 (we will ignore the 2019 footage and focus solely on the 2021 footage) footage. Max steers nearly 90° to the left even further from the apex of t4 in qualifying 3, whereas in your photo he's nearly at the apex and still hasn't hit 90° of steering angle.

Idk but to me it doesn't seem like he has the intent of making the corner.
