My guess is that these numbers are no worse than what they would have been if polled when the E30 M3 owners saw the E36 or when the E92 owners saw the F82. The only time I suspect they would have been near 100% positive would be when the E36 owners saw the E46 M3.
What matters in the end is what we think when we drive it.
