Anecdotally, there are more F34 3er GT driving around Munich than F30 sedans (Tourings are king, of course).
I'm currently in a small village in south France, and I regularly see two 3er GT and no 3er sedan parked on the streets.

In other markets, in-stock doesn't matter. In europe, almost all cars are built-to-order.
