Gotta disagree there. While the S54 is no swan song stock, the S55 is absolutely terrible in comparison. Even more so when you consider that no aftermarket setup can help the S55 exhaust sounds whereas there are some combinations that make the S54 sing.

You're correct. They've been identical to their non-M counterparts all through history, only being updated with life cycle changes. The sole exception being the M4 GTS' OLED taillights.
