Yeah this is why I dislike test driving a new car bc it's potentially someone else's purchase and it's not out of break in and you can't properly drive it.
Regional dealers need demo cars that they float around to various dealers in the area. So a potential buyer can make an appointment to drive the demo before buying.
Doesn't make sense to buy a car without driving it first.
