Still would've preferred a street legal M4 GT3 as the underlying base for this kind of money. MSRP for the GT3 is ~$550k; another $200k for a re-bodied road version would've made sense. I guess BMW M wanted to take the Lambo Reventon/Veneno/Centenario approach.
I wonder what this car looks like without the special livery.

"Tall and chunky" is kinda the original MO of the 3er. I dunno. I think it really works. I am surprised how much it took from the concept and the aero is outrageous. It's a cool car.
