This is decent advice for how to get started, but the question is really: what are you trying to get out of using a custom map6?

Do you have a big single turbo conversion? Hybrid twins? Port fuel injection? Other major modifications? Live at 10,000 ft elevation? The standard JB4 maps plus the boost limiting in 1st and 2nd gear are going to work well for most people until you really need/want the customization ability of map6. If you have a specific goal for you car, get with the BMS guys for some advice on best way to achieve it using map6. Just copying someone else's map6 settings is not what you want to do.
