I can ensure you a thing. I'm selling my beloved M140i for a brand new M3 Competition Xdrive.
As my M140i is a pre OPF version, my only fear is the lack of sound of it compared to my B58, but....as it's something that can be improved easily changing the exhaust system, I have no regrets, and I'll purchase it.
It's true, the M performance cars are great cars, a real bargain......but.....they're not real M cars. In my family we had up to 10 BMWs in the last 15 years, and only two real M cars. A wonderful M5 e39....that I really miss. And a brand new M8 competition coupé. The difference between an M car and an M performance car is more thank noticeable. believe me, it is something completely different.
To me real M cars are expensive...but worth the money.
