I think the matte black looks cheap. Every time I see it in a 2 series loaner from the dealership, it gives off such downmarket vibes.
It is unfortunate the manual has it. I'd driven both the manual and auto G82 early in G82 consideration and I actually thought the manual was missing some premium interior option.

I guess it's all subjective. I personally find the gloss black to look cheap and plasticky while the matte looks more sophisticated to me.
I also think it depends on the trim choice. My 3 series has the matte black but I also have open pore wood trim. My X5 has gloss black but the trim is a gloss finish wood so it compliments it well.
