Well think about race dashes like AIM MXL. The tach comes from both sides and meets in the middle.
If you don't like the tach I bet the HUD does it differently and you can probably order a steering wheel with tach lights.
Honestly I primarily use the hud tach on the M3. Could care less about the dash tach.
