It's funny that you mention about slowing down a bit on the 2nd day so you could get on the gas sooner, but then you were going too fast by the next part... story of my life in Gran Turismo 7. I feel like I've got one part of a track down, so I'm like "hmmmm, I wonder if I brake just a bit sooner here so I can get out faster..." and almost without fail, it ruins the remainder of the lap because my flow and muscle memory is completely out of whack. Good job... you just did that in real life.

Sounds like a great experience. I would love to do BMW's M performance school one day just for fun.
