The CSL tier is
precisely developed and engineered for the track. It perhaps does not contain as many hardware upgrades as the GTS did, but the marketing and rollout for the model has been unwaveringly clear about BMW's aspirations and intent here. Will some customers use them only for coffee runs? Sure, and some Ferrari and GT3 customers do likewise. But it's still a colossal waste.
