Actually it has. It began production in November 2018 (as MY2019 in North America).

Yes.

The G20/G21/G80 LCI should tentatively take place July 2022, which means MY2023 for North America. So, the AWD M3 will have a single calendar year and single model year of production before the LCI while the RWD M3 will have a little over a year and half of production and two model years before the LCI.

Incidentally, since the G80 M3 is starting production in 2020 (and will thus be deemed MY2021), it actually comes closer on the heels of the 3 Series than the F80 M3 did. That model started production in March 2014 (US production) following F30 SOP in November 2011 and was labeled MY2015. Had the G80 been on the same timeline, it would not be here until March 2021 and would have most likely been designated MY2022.
