This is where I came back to square one so to speak. The G80 does indeed have the potential to appease us petrolheads - very few of us would turn down a R34 GT-R. Also looking at it in this context, one could always take the 'bag the face..' approach with that G80 grill; after all it wasn't as if the R34 was that much of a looker. Do you guys think BMW can pull it off, or do I have lock down madness?

Yes but way better dual purpose acing all areas the GT-R fail to be a good daily. However that is also likely what will make it less desirable in the long run. Lack of quirks and hard core character.
