My understanding is that the flash cannot be seen by BMW but not really sure. Can always flash back to stock before service.
If you really believe that, I have some Pacific Ocean beach front property in Utah I can sell you for very cheap... But seriously, considering BMW is cracking down harder on engine tuning, especially for the M cars (the F8x is a prime example), by "flagging" cars, they will most surely be able to tell if the transmission software has been altered. In fact, if a G8x AT were to come in with a transmission warranty claim, I am sure "CSI: BMW" would be in full effect looking at the transmission...

But for now, will BMW care? Maybe, if they see a lot of warranty claims/repairs regarding the AT transmissions - but it is still very early in the G8x life cycle of course. However, the 8HP AT family by ZF has a very stout performance and reliability record - it is used in almost all BMWs with AT now. So with any luck, the transmissions in the M cars will be able to take the future abuse of aftermarket transmission tunes without too much drama from BMW - at least until the warranty period is up, after which BMW won't care what happens.
