The G8x has moved away from a track capable saloon at the excessive weight. Even with canyon runs you will notice that extra 200-300kg. I doubt in RWD format the G8x will be any faster than a stage 1 F8x, however the AWD will be very fast.

Coming from a number of BMW's over past 2 decades (1M, E46M3, F80), I now find myself questioning why I would choose a ///M over a AMG or RS? Given the G80 weight, I'd certainly probably opt for the better quality AMG if I wanted a fast saloon, but likely now forced away from the fat, but fast saloon format onto more 911/Cayman.

For now sticking with my F80 seems the most fun/logical option.
Def can't go wrong with a 911!! I'm not one who really cares about the weight like many others. I will never track my cars. I want the look, stance and power=). Some of my buddies make fun of me when I run the 22" wheels on my GTR. Of course it's not as fast, but it looks way better. Everyone needs to buy the car that best suits them. I'm sure the new G series will be a fantastic car. Maybe I will be interested in the AWD ones in a few years when hopefully the ECU's are cracked and the aftermarket is much bigger. I look forward to seeing a 1000 WHP all wheel drive G series lurking the streets soon
