It should only be looking at the software version, if the software version if out-of-date it'll want to update.

We always try and tune using the latest software version to help avoid things like this.

Thanks for the suggestion on disabling the update setting on the menu. I guess I didn't realize we had that option. A good suggestion for those with tunes or planning to tune in the future.
