2022 M3 Comp. xDrive - One year model before LCI?

HI Gang,

I believe history is repeating itself...somewhat.

Seeing that the G80 Competition xDrive will have a SOP of 7/21, this likely means that it will be a model year 2022, correct?

As the LCI SOP is 7/22 for both the G20/G80, this means that the 2022 M3 Comp. xDrive will be a one-year production model before the LCI...

The same thing happened w/ the 2008 e90 M3, and the 2015 F80 M3. Both one-year only models prior to the LCI.

I guess that's the only disadvantage of being released a few years into the current sedan's production cycle.

The only unique aspect of the new sedans is the fact the RWD models are being released early in the product cycle (MY2021), giving them a "theoretical" 2-yr pre-LCI run.

Early adopters, rejoice!
