I did a little more digging and I think I've discovered that the AWD system in the new M3 will be something you can adjust so that it's 100% RWD mode if you want, probably very similar to what you are talking about. Whether or not you can adjust the diff settings in between that (say 80/20 or 60/40, ect) I'm not sure on.

Still...something I'm going to have to think on as you said due to the extra weight. But it sounds like the driving characteristics will def. allow for oversteer
