I'd probably say yes, this is the last M3/4 with a manual. The reason isn't just the poor uptake rate but the evolution of the drivetrain. I'd expect the next M3/4 to have a downsized version of the S55 with a KERS system for torque fill and outright power (eg Porsche 918). A manual gearbox would not be a viable option for such a system.

I hadn't owned a automatic/DCT car till I bought my old e92 M3. Now, I won't buy a car that I intend to daily drive without a DCT/auto. Most performance cars (including the M3/4) have gotten so fast and so advanced that a manual doesn't suit the characteristics of the cars and their engines any more.
