I get that perspective, I really do.
I wonder if how long someone plans to keep the car comes into play when making that investment decision?
I have kept my last 2 cars for 10 years or more for each of them. If I keep this new vehicle for 10 years or more and want to protect it due to the additional money paid for it, does it change this perspective? For me, it does. For others, it's probably still too much regardless of how long you plan to keep the car.
