I have a list of the main differences I can copy/paste for you if you want.
Actually, S55 is suppose to be more fuel efficient. M2C does run significantly cooler.

Based on my data they are approximately equal.

M2 - 18.4 mpg over 16K miles driven
M2C - 18.0 mpg over 11K miles driven
X4M40i - 18.5 mpg over 39K miles driven (F26 same engine as OG M2)
X4 does not have the same engine as the M2. One is a B58, the other an N55.

I agree with the sentiment that, if you feel you don't want the S55, the N55 will be better.
More reliable, less complex, better fuel consumption, MUCH better exhaust sound.
Very limited in power if modified, compared to the S55.

Manual should be the only gearbox available, or purchased.
Here we go again. The F26 X4M40i shared the OG M2 engine. Look it up.
Huh my bad then. I thought all 40i were B58. Strange to have an N55 in there, even if a little different than others.

I'm a suspect owning the N55, albeit an older version. It just sounds great, especially compared to the S55.
