Can your rephrase that? I didn't understand what you were saying and/or what you are hinting at.
For the X3M/X4M development, the BMW M engineers wanted the B58 engine so they could start to develop the S58. What I have been told is that the B58 wasn't ready, and apparently BMW M had an internal fight to get the B58 early to start work on the S58. BMW has a 10 year road map, as all new vehicles have a two year test cycle, meaning two winters in Arjeplog, Sweden. Therefore, the engines and chassis are developed years in advance. For example, when I was in Arjeplog, Sweden back February 2019, the G80 had just arrived to start winter testing. I knew it wouldn't be release until 2020.
