lol, I feel for you... if that engine ever blows up on me, it will be a sad day for sure... but I think it's still worth it considering that the chances of something going terribly wrong are usually very remote. Granted I never overdo it and in most cases don't go past stage 1. Calculated risk is always much more rewarding in life than no risk at all.
I spoke with my local BMW service manager regarding the S58 in the X3M/X4M, so far no issues. BUT, I know first hand from one of the X3M/X4M M engineers, that the B58 engine for the S58 was delayed and involved an internal fight to get the B58 engine early for S58 development. This is why I feel there is a difference between the X3M/X4M to G80/G82. Lots of BMW gossip when employees have a few beers after a day of track training in Germany.
