Exactly and the statement was made in the context of a disappointment of small G82 wheel arches and attributed a perceived F80 popularity over the F82 to prove his point that large wheel arches are more effective than a wide body and low roofline to appeal to buyers.
I think there is some truth to this even if I personally prefer the latter. Obviously a narrow body with large wheel arches is preferable to just a standard 3 series body with small wheel arch flares.
