Would not recommend for daily use. However, if ur a prudent and skilled driver in cold and rainy weather ie safe, then they will last nearly forever on a daily car. Also not for repeated track use as they are expensive.
So why buy them? It's ironic but best for low mileage, nice weather or weekend cars aka Garage Queens:
- less un-sprung weight, noticeable IMO
- less dust
- major bling factor, incl larger rotors
- no rusty water drip marks when washing car
- squeaks not an issue if well maintained
- a few HPDE events won't hurt them
Above is based on F80 experiences; not sure how G80 floating rear calipers impacts comments.
