You can program the 1-8 buttons to pretty much anything as a shortcut. Phone #'s, locations, menu short cuts etc. Also the buttons are touch sensitive so if you forget what you saved to a number just touch the button and. It will show you the shortcut on the screen. Then press it to access whatever you programmed.

I loved this about my F82. I was able to set it so that when I hit the #2 preset the screen switched to displaying the sport gauges/displays.
Unfortunately, you aren't able to save the sport displays to the 1-8 presets on the G80... lame |

Mine is save to, press button 8 and it displays the sport setting - easy to configure
