They will underrate it, but the F8X is underrated as well. If you extrapolate the numbers it goes like this, although it could vary
F8X rated at 425, closer to 500
F8X comp rated at 450, closer to 525
G80 rated at 475, closer to 550?
G80 comp rated at 500, closer to 575?
Both inline 6's so these engines should mimic each other on the dyno but with the S58 putting out a little more power. Matter of fact, the S58 is already out in the XM series so maybe i should look into the power numbers!
EDIT: The S58 puts out 490 in Comp form, the S55 puts out 450whp in Comp form. Difference of about 50 crank HP just like i was saying. To conclude, i would be shocked if the new G80 in rwd form pulls more then a tenth or two better than the F8X in the 1/4 mile. The G80 will most likely improve in a number of ways, but straight line speed wont be one of them (for the rwd model).
