I had a slight change of plans, and actually spent an hour or so of "quality time"
elbows-deep in my home wiring closet weeding out some dead cables/devices and patching the network gear together in a more logical arrangement to remove unnecessary hops. The big score was freeing up a 4-port PoE switch, which I plan to put in the basement where it will make hard-wiring three IP security cameras much easier.
Just returned from a Home Depot run, where I picked up a long cat6 patch cable for the basement run. I also picked up the mounting brackets for the 911 address sign project, which I'm also hoping to finish tomorrow...ticker willing.....
