I have heard this before, the reps tell the dealer the big allocation any day, this is happening with numerous manufacturers. Bottom line is supply interruptions are a moving targets. Costs manufacturers massive money to run the plants every hour, maybe the reps are just trying to appease everyone with the big carrot...seems disingenuous. Sales staff are likely repeating this to customers trying to keep the order bank as full as possible when there are no cars on the ground to speak of for sale. They are all worried about paying bills no doubt.
I would think that the allocation process will be hit and miss fair or not for the foreseeable future. It's an allocation lottery for those who want to order a car by finding a dealer that may have an allocation. Good luck.
