I think the new 4 series not selling is an indicative of the new design reception. In my area I think a lot of 4 series sales are from ppl interested in owning a M4 but either don't want to spend as much or can't justify the price premium for there usage. I often see them equipped with M performance parts to have them look the closest to a real M series.

M340i and M440i M Performance Edition was a great success around here.

I think differentiating the M series cars too much from the regular series was a mistake. A lot of M buyers love that a lot of ppl can't tell the difference between the regular 40k model and the 80k track capable model. Reminds me of what everyone is telling me about the civic type R, I'd love to drive and own one but would not want to be seen in it. It's a shame because they would sell more if it would be stealthier.
