I had all 3 spacers in and it might have helped to take 1 or 2 out but it's just a piece of plastic and when you remove it you pretty much destroy the whole piece. Or at least that's what happened to me.
I have just gotten used to it now. In the future I may do an aftermarket shifter and or CDV delete.
