Really depends how you gonna go from here. First world problem but fact is fact. No repair can be better than original. Sucks even more when you're not at fault. If the neighbor is willing to pay for it out of pocket then at least it won't hit Carfax. If it does, it's going to leave a ding on value and it stinks. Not telling you to sell it undisclosed but just be prepared you will take another hit when doing so. Better factor that in the equation.
