Im not sure how theyre going to change the Thrust bearing without removing at least the crank shaft. I guess they could remove the pan, and pull the crank down to remove and replace the thrust bearing. Unless they have some special process, the bearings are locked into the block, to keep them from spinning. So, you cant just hammer them out.
