This seems like an example of a common issue that people have regarding data, and in this case, anecdotal data.
I think the OP believed that if you got the 826M wheels, you were more likely to get the Michelin tires, since he saw a lot of people with 826M with them.
This poll shows the 826M wheels are the most popular. So, you'll see more people with Michelin tires with 826M because more people have 826M.
