Why don't you go look at a review of the F80 by Chris Harris... a proper driver, not some so-called YouTube journalist who thinks he can drive. Harris was not 'lukewarm', he was positively brimming with enthusiasm.

I still remember the lukewarm reception of the F8x: it is a car that works against the driver, being overly snappy while numb and on the verge, feels like you had to fight it to stay alive! This issue was tackled rather fast, I don't know the adaptations they've done, but a 2015 is likely to have this, a 2016 is probably ok. What was appreciated from the start was the hammer of an engine and the improved DCT.
