The math simply didn't make sense for BMW on legalizing the CSL versions. Production was too small to go through crash testing and redesigning certain pieces. Federalization costs well into seven figures so the profitability from selling a few hundred cars doesn't pencil out. They also don't need a halo car to sell every M3/4 they can make.

Clubsport package on GT cars is cage and harnesses.
As far as I know, seats are the exact same U.S. and Euro. U.S. driver seat even has the sub belt slot.
