But what happens if you just hang the pressure hose to the side? Would that give you a check engine light if it just measure pressure?
Or maybe it wants just a little pressure increase so the dme knows thats the sensor working and to keep it in an acceptable range?

Sorry, no idea at all. I assumed that the sensor would measure an acceptable range of pressure and anything outside would cause an error and limp mode. Thats probably the reason why it needs a tune or a plug and play unit like this to bypass the sensor. But the extent of my knowledge regarding this is very limited.
