Oddly enough, the insurance on the M3 is considerably cheaper than my previous car (X5 m50d - so still desirable I think). Less than 40% in fact. I think SUVs are more often stolen.

I hear ya! And good for you, although M3s
are relatively low-rent compared to some of the cars I see on the streets of Kensington, Knightsbridge and Belgravia!
