i have a problem when reviewers just smile the whole time, get fake excited doing a pull, and don't call a car trash out of fear of the automaker not giving them more cars to review. chris harris wrote a famous article about this where is called out ferrari on their antics (ie sending a team of mechanics and multiple cars to a review setup for different tests because technically, you could order the car in different variations for different tasks) -->

this is whats great about british journalism for the most part and the old BBC topgear... they didn't have to air commercials or worry about pissing off a manufacturer. they got their money from the tv licensing fee the people paid.
