Yeah, there's a MASSIVE 73 lb-ft torque difference between the non-comp and comp model. Dumb.
The base model offers plenty of torque for regular spirited driving. As others have stated, OTHER than the power difference, there is no difference in options you can have from one model to another. Which is actually great news for manual buyers. All to often, the manual options are relegated to the entry model with no ability to spec options from the higher end model.

Ok, I guess the "base" model can't get 19/20 staggered wheel setup...

Again, there are plenty of BMW bashing, but overall, I'm pretty happy with BMW's decision.
