I'd chalk this up to simply logistics. Let's not underestimate how hard it is for folks at the port to stack up and then process thousands of cars that have been sitting around. My guess is that they need to get the cars that are easiest to free up done before they can get to others on the lot. Same thing happened to a Mercedes I had ordered a few years back. I had one of the first C43 AMG models produced, but then the EPA took months to approve the sale of the entire line. Once approved, y car sat at the back of the lot until they could move all of the other inventory out of the way. Not "fair" but its reality.
