There is a lot going on here. Yes, the black hides some of the design compromises, but I can't reconcile spending a lot more money in parts that make the car look worse, rather than improve on the looks.
Aftermarket vendors have a great opportunity to fill this space. BMW did not do a very good job.
I think it has a lot to do with the demographic the Marketing team is after. It is definitely not me.
