Not true to the pedigree of the original M3...we had the M5 for the reason you listed above...no reason to keep making these cars BIGGER and HEAVIER each iteration...
3000 lb M3 with 450hp = Interesting
5-series 4000lb M3 with 450hp = Uninteresting
