It's pretty straight forward the shell is 2 pieces that wraps around the electronics attached to the windshield. I used an ifixit pick:

Starting at shell's seam furthest from the mirror insert the pick and move it toward the mirror it will pop apart the clips. I had to tilt the mirror to get in on an angle to pop the seam that is right behind the mirror. Once the seam clips are popped off you can separate the shell.
