full carbon fibre for a regular car / SUV doesn't make sense, even if all the car manufacturers in the world combined production, they can't build 500K carbon fiber vehicles per year.

We're talking about regular BMW X models, not some sort of exotic supercars. Even the iX uses aluminium and steel for majority of the chassis. Aluminum, steel is still the most versatile material and easy to work with / easy to recycle and reuse.

No-one's going to pay 2-3 times for SUV for a few hundred lb weight savings and slight decrease in fuel consumption.
