Meanwhile the G80/2/7 all have floating calipers in the rear which means to swap out the rear pads you need to take the rear caliper completely off. I wish BMW spent their $$$ developing fixed rear calipers instead of this.

The rear calipers aren't really the problem. The 6 piston calipers with a fixed bridge is. Having a removable bridge would make life much easier when it comes to changing front pads.
