This is the direction BMW has clearly decided to go with iD8 in ALL cars. Similar like with the grilles and in a Steve Jobs kind of way "we will tell the customer what they need and like" BMW seems to be doing the same thing. If all of the clamoring about the grilles didn't cause the to change and it clearly hasn't as they are popping up on more and more models a few cancellations if it happens won't either. This design is 'the future' of BMW like it or not.
