You overlook the fact that, in most of the world, there is already an X2 20i and 520i today. They use the B48*20M1 while 30i models use the B48*20O1, and M35i models use the B48A20T1. So you’d actually need another letter in the name for the middle model. While that’s certainly easy to add, I don’t think the resulting naming scheme would end up being better for consumers. In fact, I think it might create more confusion.
