And he even states they are similar money. It's bonkers what can pass for journalism these days.
Might as well compare the M135i vs RS3 Sportback as the price difference is LESS in that matchup.
Yes of course an M3 is better than an RS3. I'm looking forward to the Q8 vs X1 'review next'. :
I notice no drag race which might have been incredibly close and almost worthwhile. However they seemed content with an interior quality 'feel' test on two cars £25k apart that are performance machines.

The point is:
1. Base model M3C versus fully spec RS3
2. Post discounts and finance they are similarly priced monthly.
I think it is a poor review overall but the key takeaway for me is that the RS3 is overpriced.
Although I already knew that having had a quote for a Vorsprung spec, and M3C and an X4MC.
The most expensive car turned out to be the cheapest.

It was a base M3C though. I saw at least extended leather…
I do agree that a loaded RS3 isn't good value. No way I'd be going into £60k territory for them. Once you start doubling a case entry level price it rocky ground on for and finish.
Here in the U.K. an RS3 can starts from £4K in and £430 a month Vs an M3C £5k and £890.
I'm looking at an RS3 option, and hence my defensive comments 🤓, but yes ETTO and the M3 for me is a nicer car but I'm looking at compact size too. No bad car here … just bad comparison.
